AGree’s Research and Innovation Initiative championed more robust research-based mechanisms in the U.S., supporting its vision of an increasingly productive food system in the 21st century.

In order to improve community and environmental health, we need a modernized research system that will spark food and agricultural innovation—a critical drivers of U.S. economic growth. Recent reports estimate a ROI on agricultural research and innovation of 10:1 (PCAST report, 2012) and a net social return of at least 20:1 (Pardey, Philip G., Alston, Julian M., & Chan-Kang, Connie. AGree. 2013). AGree’s Research and Innovation Initiative championed more robust research-based mechanisms in the U.S., supporting its vision of an increasingly productive food system in the 21st century.
