We are pleased to share with you an op-ed written by AGree Co-Chair’s Dan Glickman and Jim Moseley that ran on Saturday, July 14, in the Des Moines Register.

Another View: Ag research key to feeding world's people

The piece ties the Administration’s political support for increased research and the Senate passage of the Farm Bill to the Morrill Act 150th anniversary and makes the case that publicly funded agricultural research is pivotal to the well-being of people in the U.S. and abroad. The op-ed calls for a re-prioritization of current research dollars to meet the challenges facing the food and agriculture system and points to the human capital investment needed to ensure we have a cadre of researchers capable of addressing the challenges. It concludes by calling for a renewed focus on research and education – equal to the bold vision Lincoln had in 1862 when he signed the Act.
