AGree Positions

AGree is working to develop systemic solutions to the challenges facing the global food and agriculture system:

  • Meet future demand for food;
  • Conserve and enhance water, soil, and habitat;
  • Improve nutrition and public health; and
  • Strengthen farms and communities to improve livelihoods.

Addressing these challenges head on is of utmost importance given the connection of food and agriculture to other critical issues including health and nutrition, environmental quality, economic development, global stability, and the livelihoods of people around the globe. Changes in public policy are critical to address these challenges. At the same time, AGree recognizes limits in what government can and should do and is developing recommendations for the private sector and civil society as well as policymakers.

AGree has identified a comprehensive set of 14 strategies to address the challenges confronting the global food and agriculture system. For five strategies selected as priorities, AGree has developed 2013 Position Papers.
